Lantern Cross is on the East side of the A3124 Winkleigh-Torrington road, about three quarters of a mile North of Beaford. In normal traffic, the house is about an hour's drive from M5 Junction 27 (Tiverton) via the A361 North Devon Link and the B3227 South Molton - Torrington, or about 35 minutes from the Whiddon Down exit from the A30, via the A3124/A3072/A3124 through Winkleigh. The closest mainline station is Tiverton Parkway about 60 minutes away; there are closer stations (Eggesford and Umberleigh) on the Tarka Line from Exeter St Davids to Barnstaple, on which there is a service approximately hourly.
